Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to visit. My work brings together clinical practice, system design, and narrative research. I support organizations working to improve mental-health care, consult on digital-health strategy, and write about the cultural and clinical stories that shape how we understand distress.
If you’re exploring therapy, I want you to know that beginning this process can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve been carrying things alone for a long time. My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and informed by nearly a decade of clinical practice in varied care settings.
For publishers and collaborators, you’ll find links to my current writing projects, including Shadow of a Diagnosis, which blends memoir, critique, and narrative theory. You’ll also find my background across healthcare, nonprofit, and innovation sectors.
Please explore whatever you're here for—therapy, consulting, or writing. I’m glad you’re here.
Dr. Monica Ross, DSW, LPCC, is a psychotherapist licensed in Texas and California providing trauma-informed telehealth care and narrative-based therapy. She also consults with digital health organizations on clinical strategy, care models, and ethical practice frameworks.
She holds a Doctorate in Social Work from the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from St. Edward’s University in Austin, and a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
Whether you’re designing a new care model, building a digital tool, or rethinking how we talk about healing—I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
I’m not taking new therapy clients or new consulting projects at this time, though I’m always open to hearing about meaningful work.
I maintain a small therapy practice and occasionally take on consulting or collaborative projects. While I’m always open to hearing about meaningful work, I’m not adding new clients or projects at this time.
My work draws from trauma-responsive, evidence-based methods (CBT, ACT, IFS, DBT, EMDR) and a reflective, narrative-oriented style.
